Martha’s Vineyard proudly supports weakness

Residents of Martha’s Vineyard showed the world their shameless hypocrisy, “Not in my backyard, but certainly in yours”.

Not too long ago former president Obama said that our strength is diversity, something well said and very true. We, Americans have countless examples where migrants have vastly contributed to the United States’ strength and growth. Unfortunately for Martha’s Vineyard, when its residents had a rare chance to become a little bit stronger (like the rest of the USA) by slightly increasing its diversity via 50 asylum seekers, they simply blew it — they vehemently chose to remain weaker by forcing away the migrants.

Many people, including President Biden himself, criticized Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis for flying the undocumented migrants to the island. Biden argued that “DeSantis is playing politics with human beings” [1]. However, his administration is also known for flying scores of undocumented migrants all over the country at night, likely to avoid the news cameras and critics. DeSantis, however, did it in plain sight, not worried about any criticism or fake news narratives springing up for the occasion. It’s hilarious and also sad how people on one side approach the situation — “Republican governors flying illegal aliens to a liberal tourist destination: Kidnapping! Democrats and Joe Biden flying illegal aliens at midnight to your community or your backyard: Charity, compassion, and a chance [2].”
